Labour Affairs Information for Jobseekers and Employers

DEZA and Employers:

If a company is looking for new employees, DEZA has a databank with registered jobseekers. This will give a company more opportunity to quickly find the perfect match for its vacancies. When a company registers a vacancy at DEZA, the Labour Affairs team will search (look for) for possible matches in the databank. Information of the result of the matching will be sent to the employer. The employer will receive an information form with general information about possible candidates for the vacancy. He can make an appointment with the candidates for a selection conversation, or take the opportunity to choose for a pre-selection procedure, in this case, DEZA will call the candidates and select the most suitable for an interview with the employer. Representatives of the Labour Affairs department can attend the selection interview on request. Although the Labour Department tries to find the most suitable matches and takes this matter seriously, DEZA cannot be held responsible for the outcome. It is very important for DEZA to receive feedback about the outcome of the interviews with the selected jobseekers.  With the purpose of keeping the databank updated.

Registration of Vacancies:

Registration of vacancies at DEZA is possible by telephone, email or personally. Feel free to pass by DEZA anytime during office hours. You will be asked a few specific questions about the vacancy and also a job description of the vacancy is required. A good job description will help in finding a suitable match for the opening. The registration of vacancies is free of charge.

Jobseekers registration :

There is a different approach in registering residential (residing) Dutch citizens as jobseekers and non residential Dutch citizens. Non residential Dutch citizens can email their resume and copies of diplomas to DEZA while residential Dutch citizens have to pay a visit to the office of the representative of Labour Affairs. Here they will be assisted with filling in the registration form. Questions about diplomas, job experience and what kind of job the jobseeker is looking for will be asked. The gathered information will help the department of Labour Affairs find a job that is suitable for the jobseeker. For registration an ID card, resume (C.V.), and diplomas are required. The registration validation is for the period of 6 months.

Unemployed jobseekers who want to become part of the economically active population should inscribe themselves at DEZA.  DEZA keeps a daily registration of vacancies published in the newspapers and other publications. There are many companies that register their vacancies directly at DEZA and will not go public with their vacancies.  Registration of jobseekers and vacancies is crucial because the admission of foreign labourers is linked to the employment registration. If the labour market lacks labourers in certain industrial areas or occupations, then the admission of foreign labourers has to be sustained.

As after care the team of the labour department will request the employers to provide an evaluation of the new employee. If the placed jobseeker was receiving welfare he/she will maintain the welfare during the probation period of two months until after the probation period.
